OWT Email Phishing Scams

As part of the OWT transition, we’d like to make you aware of phishing attempts that have affected a few former OWT customers. Unfortunately, three user accounts were recently compromised after falling for fraudulent emails. These phishing emails may appear to come from familiar addresses – including ones that look like OWT support – and may ask for your password, payment information, or include unexpected attachments. It’s unfortunate that these come at a time shortly after the migration as these customers assumed these were legitimate e-mails originating from Cline Computers.

Please remember:

  • Cline Computers will never ask for your password or payment information via email.
  • We will not send attachments unless you are expecting them.
  • Be cautious of any suspicious emails and double-check the sender before responding.

If you suspect you’ve received a phishing email or if your account may have been compromised, please contact us immediately at 1-866-943-DATA (3282). In the case of the three compromised accounts, we have resolved their issues but the tremendous amount of outgoing SPAM from the culprits caused a low reputation score with SPAM filters; we are working through this.
